Applications are now open for new students at the Salesianos do Funchal school for the 2025/2026 academic year. Applications are formalised online.
The Salesianos from Funchal is an educational institution that aims to assist families in promoting the full development of students’ personalities, progressive self-esteem and the ability to be protagonists and responsible for their own educational process; training in respect for the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals; education for coexistence and respect for cultural and religious plurality; the development of attitudes that favour responsible participation in social and cultural life; and commitment to building a society that prioritises peace, cooperation, and solidarity among people and nations.
As a Catholic school, we seek to promote the integral formation of students according to a Christian conception of the person, life, and the world; create an environment that favours the testimony and evangelising action of believers; propose pathways of education in faith for those who wish and in a climate of freedom; and collaborate with other social forces committed to building a more tolerant and empathetic society.
The Salesian school is rooted in Don Bosco’s educational experience. It is this experience that inspires its principles and criteria for action: it is popular, accessible, and open; it cultivates a family environment that educates; places the student at the centre of the educational process; emphasises the personalisation of educational relationships through the presence of educators among the young; favours the co-responsible participation of all; promotes solidarity with the most needy and other entities; “Educates by evangelising and evangelises by educating.”
